Bio:

Ben Edwards was born in Los Angeles, California in 1982 to Chilean parents. In his teenage years Ben began writing original music and fronted the Los Angeles band, BYG, accumulating young fans throughout the region, winning multiple battle of the band competitions, and selling out local venues such as The Roxy and The Key Club. In 2000 Ben moved to Northern California to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz where he was immediately enlisted in Bay area pop rock band, Blueprint, winners of “Santa Cruz Band of the Year” three times during his four year tenure. Ben also formed his own band, Gimik, playing a fusion of rock, funk, and jam music. In 2005, upon graduating from college, Ben returned to Los Angeles, and after a two-year stint in the corporate world, returned to music as a professional bass player. In 2007 Ben toured with Chris Barron, of Spin Doctors fame, as well as Indie Rockers Curtis Peoples, Dave Yaden, Austin Hanks, Leland Grant and Keaton Simons. In early 2008 Ben was approached by Disney to become the touring bass player for Hannah Montana star, Mitchel Musso. In March 2008 Ben became bass player and band director for Beto Cuevas, winner of 3 Grammy’s with his international Spanish Rock band, La Ley. Ben toured extensively throughout 2008 with both Cuevas and Musso, and then dedicated 2009 to Cuevas and his band, traveling to South and Central America for tours and promotions as well as recording on Cuevas’ debut solo album, Miedo Escenico.
